XS Energy was formed on March 18^th 1995. The founding members shared the perspective that, carnival in St. Lucia had stagnated somewhat, and there was a need to take it to a higher level, so both revellers and sponsors alike would be given ultimate satisfaction.

XS Energy has now produced eleven portrayals for carnival from 1997 to 2007. We have placed 4^th once, 2^nd on three occasions, third four times, and captured the coveted Band of the Year title in 2001, 2002 and 2006. We have also won the Best Design Award in 2002, 2003 and 2006 as well as the Most Colourful Award in 2006. The band has won the King of the Bands title on three occasions and Queen of the Bands in 2003 in collaboration with Mr. Giovanni St. Omer. We returned to winner’s row again with our second Queen of the Bands title in 2007 under the direction of Mr. Danny Martial. We are also committed to junior carnival, which represents the future of the art form, and we have produced eleven portrayals that have placed second on five occasions and also won Band of the Year in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007. We have won the junior queen title five times and the junior king title for the first time in 2007. We have established ourselves as one of the leading bands in the sub region and our reputation as a fun filled organisation is second to none. We have also gained the respect of our peers in the region and some of our designs were adapted for use in Trinidad carnival for 2001. We have also produced individual costumes for Martinique and Guadeloupe as well as sections for carnival in St. Kitts. Locally, we produce pieces outside of carnival for hotels and for special events.

Mrs. Helene Joseph, Mrs. Valentine Quinlan and Ms Jean Morille are coordinating our junior band. Mrs. Michelle Phillips, Ms. Celeste Charlemagne, Ms. Jasmine Auguste, Mr. Chris Norville, Mr. Mark Louis, Ms. Nadia Asgill-Semei, Ms. Sherma St. Cyr, Mrs. Sandra Ludovic and Mr. Peter Murray make up our events management team. Our registration team comprise Mr. Sebastien Beckles, Ms. Theresa Biscette, Ms. Kim Desir, Ms. Brenda Celestine, Mr. Kevin Celestine and Ms. Merlinda Joseph. Our public relations activity is coordinated by Mr. Embert Charles. Mr. Joseph Maxwell, Mrs. Valentine Quinlan, Ms. Theresa Victor and Ms. Desiray Mc Lean are authorised to negotiate with sponsors on behalf of the band. Mr. Shane Charlery has been the main designer for the band since 1999, and leads a production team comprising Mr. Anthony Reece, Mr. Duane Edwards, Mr. Francis Marulaz and Mr. Danny Marshall.
